Steven L. Simmons, DO

Dr. Steven L. Simmons is a board-certified, dual fellowship trained sports medicine and pain medicine physician who has been practicing since 2005. He serves as the primary treating physician for injured patients in the PIC Network. Dr. Simmons is able to directly provide many minimally invasive interventional procedures to treat a wide range of spine and extremity injuries that result from motor vehicle accidents. He is the medical director and supervising physician for DBC Spine Rehabilitation in Fort Worth, an evidence-based treatment system with proven results using machines developed in Finland and used in clinics worldwide. Dr. Simmons also coordinates care with other specialists and surgeons in the PIC Network when needed.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Simmons spent 13 years treating patients in the John Peter Smith Health Network. He earned distinguished honors at John Peter Smith Hospital as Intern of the Year and House Staff President. He has been named to Fort Worth Magazine’s list of “Top Docs” several times. Dr. Simmons developed and served as program director for the ACGME accredited UT Southwestern PM&R Pain Medicine Fellowship at John Peter Smith and served as faculty for the Sports Medicine Fellowship. He has held faculty appointments from Texas A&M University, UNT HSC-TCOM, and UT Southwestern while working in the JPS Health Network.
